Houses for Widows - Rwanda
This project was conceived by our own 4th degree member, Father Bibandi. Father’s parish has a total of 183 widows, the majority of whose houses are in terrible shape; their walls are falling apart, and their iron sheets or grass thatched roofs severely leak during rainy seasons (which is right now). They also lack fences for security. These poor housing conditions are only made worse by the widows’ ill health, nonexistent health insurance, and malnutrition. The majority of the parish’s people practice the traditional agricultural system; therefore they are poor peasants. Father is starting a project to begin rehabilitating 10 of these dwellings, which are in the worst shape. He is seeking $4,231.07 to accomplish this project.
