Scholarship Application Guidelines & Procedures

The Knights of Columbus, Bishop Crimont Assembly 1992 is providing a minimum $500.00 scholarship to one or more practicing Roman Catholic, graduating high school seniors from any Southeast Alaska high school. The applicants must be active members of their Catholic parish or mission in Southeast Alaska.

May 15, 2025 (postmarked) is the deadline to apply. Applicants are to be submitted to the following address:

The applicant must plan to attend a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education or vocational school. Applicants must plan to attend school on a full time basis as defined by the educational institution in which the applicant plans to enroll. You have until July to decide on a school.

WHO MAY APPLY:

Any practicing Roman Catholic who is a graduating high school senior with a 2.0 GPA or better in Southeast Alaska.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

Please send all information in one package. A completed application consists of the following items:

  1. A Knights of Columbus Scholarship Application (here).

  2. High school transcript including first half of senior year. May be unofficial.

  3. A letter of recommendation from your pastor, deacon, catechism teacher, or a Knight of Columbus member confirming you were active in your parish and/or community during all or part of your high school years.

  4. A letter of acceptance from your intended education institution (if available). You do not need the acceptance letter until we present your check. If you have not yet decided what school you will attend, indicate so and apply anyway.

  5. An essay of not less than 200 words titled, “Catholic American citizen.” Please describe what you think it means to be a Catholic American citizen, and how having such qualities would both support and defend our country.
